Could it be difficult to integrate the full XMP support?

We do not need it here so it is not planned yet.
I suppose it wouldn't be too much difficult, since it is just some xmlk metadata within a PDF stream.

Any contribution is welcome!

I have to look also for PDF/A-3 support.

AFAIR during PDF/A-1 support, we introduce some needed XML metadata into the PDF.
You may take a look at this part of the unit, and find out some patterns.
