CPortLib in mORMot Framework

I've browsed the *.pas files of the mORMot Framework and I could not find a unit that uses CPort.pas...
Why is it included in the framework?

I know the original CPortLib is a great tool for serial communication (your enhanced version may even be better), but why put it in this framework? Would it not be more suitable to have this fork as a sepparate project?

Re: CPortLib in mORMot Framework

The file is there since it was included in some of our projects... but never used by other units.
You may safely ignore it.
And we would eventually remote it from fossil.

Re: CPortLib in mORMot Framework

Removing it would be the right thing to do, becouse it causes confusion for people using the original CPortLib (like my self). I installed the mORMot (added it to Lybrary path) to test it and then another day tried editing a project using CPortLib. I took me a while to find out the mORMot is to blame for the warnings I got.

Re: CPortLib in mORMot Framework

I understand that it is confusing.

I've removed them from our repository.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
