Log formatting

Hello,
Would it be possible to have log entries time formatted down to microseconds just like methods execution time entries are? For some industrial type of, real-time applications it would be very helpful.
Thank you.

Re: Log formatting

This is what the HighResolutionTimestamp property does.
The microseconds count is written in hexadecimal.

Re: Log formatting

Thank you for your response. Why does this property revert to false when RotateFileCount and RotateFileSizeKB / RotateFileDailyAtHour are set?

Re: Log formatting

Because, as documented, it is in "append" mode, and currently TSynLog does not parse the existing header to extract the start timestamp.

Re: Log formatting

Is it then possible to have LogView display log entry timestamp formatted down to microseconds when RotateFileCount and RotateFileSizeKB / RotateFileDailyAtHour are not set?

I am using LogView 1.18.6450 and while the log file provides High resolution time stamp as shown below:

0000000000030FFA ! info Windows 11 (Version 25H2, OS Build 26200.7462, 64-bit Edition)
000000000003114A ! info Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-1350 @ 3.30GHz

the LogView displays log entries with time stamp formated down to milliseconds only:

11.12.2025 08:55:06.201	Info	1 Windows 11 (Version 25H2, OS Build 26200.7462, 64-bit Edition)
11.12.2025 08:55:06.201	Info	1 Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-1350 @ 3.30GHz

Re: Log formatting

If you click on the line, you will see the high resolution timestamp as hexadecimal in the memo below.

Re: Log formatting

Thank you. I have noticed that. I was rather expecting to see microseconds in formatted timestamp. And by the way, is LogView source available in mORMot 2 repository or mORMot 1 only?
